THQ Nordic Shoots Down Claims That AEW Fight Forever ‘Is Ready’

Per Hollenbo, the Global Senior Community Manager for THQ Nordic, has poured cold water on previous claims from Tony Khan that AEW Fight Forever is basically ready to launch.

AEW boss Khan said last month during a press conference that the upcoming wrestling title was “finished” although wasn’t able to pin a release date on the game at the time.

I can’t say the exact release date. There’s a lot of things that go into that, and I don’t want to step on anybody with that. It is coming very soon. The game is finished.

However, Hellenbo was shown a Tweet claiming “the AEW Fight Forever video game is basically ready,” the community boss made it clear that this isn’t the case at all.

I mean, if you want an unfinished game, sure, we could release now. The game is doing really well and is getting there, but not 100% yet, so yeah, just another rumour on twitter I fear.

There are tons of things to take into consideration when developing a game – submission, QA, loca[lisation], ratings, optimisation, polish, coding and much more. So even if a game looks finished to some people, if it missed one of those steps it isnt finished or ready to release.

AEW Fight Forever was originally pegged for a February 2023 release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. However, the game was delayed and there’s no sign of a new release date in sight yet.
