Mortal Kombat fans have been eager to learn anything new about the next coming mainline title in the franchise, and thankfully it seems like Ed Boon and the rest of NetherRealm’s silence will soon end.
A teaser was released on Wednesday which hints at a reveal for the next Mortal Kombat title coming soon, which will be Mortal Kombat 12.
However the teaser didn’t stop there, but instead seemed to further include a hint that NetherRealm is looking to reboot the series in a way, bring the main storyline which has been running through each mainline game back to a new beginning.
Of course this is all just speculation, but its a potential road that NetherRealm could go down, and one which might help to bring in a new generation of Mortal Kombat fans who recognize it not just from the game, but the films as well.
In any case, it wouldn’t be the first time in the franchise that NetherRealm has brought the characters back to a new beginning for players to follow forward from.
