Project Sirius Developer The Molasses Flood Reportedly Hit By Multiple Layoffs

The Molasses Flood, the studio currently working on CD Projekt RED‘s The Witcher spin-off, Project Sirius, has reportedly been hit by a number of layoffs. The news comes following the studio’s announcement that it had finished creating a new framework for the multiplayer title.

A number of employees at the company took to Twitter over the past few days to confirm they had bee let go from the studio, including Robert Bailey (Narrative Designer) and Eleanor Falck (Environmental Artist). The Molasses Flood hasn’t issued any statement on the matter, and it’s currently unknown just how many staff have been laid off

CD Projekt RED has a number of The Witcher games in the pipeline outside of Project Sirius, including a brand new instalment in the series that is still a few years off. Beyond that, it’s also working on a full remake of The Witcher powered by Unreal Engine 5, which is scheduled to arrive after The Witcher 4.
