Shinji Mikami, the creator behind the Resident Evil franchise, has heaped praise on Sucker Punch Productions‘ Ghost of Tsushima.
The former Capcom and Tango Gameworks developer shared his brief thought on the samurai epic on Twitter, which we’ve included below.
Mikami-san started out his gaming career with Capcom and worked on Disney titles including Goof Troop before he branched out into Resident Evil, which was a pioneering survival horror title building on the foundations of Alone in the Dark and Sweet Home.
He’s also the mastermind behind the likes of Dino Crisis and Resident Evil 4, the latter of which revolutionised the franchise and influenced countless third-person shooters. After leaving Capcom, he worked at the likes of Clover Studio and Platinum Games, before founding Tango Gameworks in 2010 before departing this year.
Ghost of Tsushima was released for the PS4 in July 2020 and was spruced up for PS5 as Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut the following August.
