Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it will host a new State of Play event this Thursday, April 13, featuring a new look at the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XVI on PS5.
The format holder will offer around 20 minutes of new gameplay for Final Fantasy XVI, although right now we’re not sure if this is all will be showcased during the event. Regardless, anything new on Final Fantasy XVI is a winner as far as we’re concerned!
Final Fantasy XVI is scheduled for release on PS5 on June 22, 2023, with the game having gone gold late last month.
Final Fantasy XVI director Hiroshi Takai recently commented on the PlayStation Blog that he was blown away by the speed of PS5’s SSD, noting how the studio has leveraged the power of Sony’s new console to deliver a truly next-generation Final Fantasy experience.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed by Square Enix that Final Fantasy XVI will support two performance modes for PS5 owners, which will prioritise either resolution or frame rate.
