Square Enix has released a couple of new Final Fantasy XVI trailers offering a glimpse at some key areas of the upcoming RPG, including party members and the Story Focused Mode.
Protagonist Clive Rosfield will be assisted in combat by the likes of Cidolfus Telamon and Jill Warrick, who utilise thunder magic and ice projectiles, respectively. We also have Clive’s wolf companion, Torgal, who players can issue commands to during combat.
Meanwhile, the Final Fantasy XVI Story Focused Mode is available to select when beginning a game and offers Timely Accessories, which allow players to slow down time and perform combos and special attacks with a single button. These accessories do, however, take up equipment slots, so keep that in mind.
Final Fantasy XVI is scheduled for release on PS5 on June 22, 2023. Sony and Square Enix are planning on launching a console bundle to coincide with the game’s release, although this features a download code and not a physical copy of the tile.
