Blizzard’s Rod Fergusson has assured Diablo IV players following the Open Beta that respeccing your character won’t be ‘prohibitively expensive.’
The response came after a fan contacted Fergusson saying that they enjoyed the beta, but they did’t have the time to “remake characters” and would instead rather redistribute skill points.
It’s not prohibitively expensive, and we’ve made it easier by being able to refund a single skill point or the entire tree at once.
This isn’t the first time that Blizzard has touched base on respeccing characters. Last year, Fergusson and Diablo IV game director Joe Shely told IGN that each skill is open to reallocation point-to-point using gold as a currency, which begins cheaply and slowly increases in value.
The Diablo IV Open Beta was the biggest in the series to date, with players clocking in 61.5 million hours.
