Blizzard is planning on releasing new story content for Diablo IV every three months, according to associate game director Joe Piepiora has revealed to Game Informer.
Diablo IV’s post-launch quarterly updates will feature not only story content, but a new seasonal battle pass that will offer free and premium variations. The narrative extras will also be tied to new mechanics and various other features in these updates.
Blizzard confirmed recently that the Diablo IV endgame will be fleshed out with the addition of Nightmare dungeons, which act as revamped versions of the existing 100 or so dungeons present in the game with added difficulty. Meanwhile, these areas will be complemented by new locations in the open world known as Hillsides.
Diablo IV is scheduled for release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on June 6, 2023.
