Even though E3 was sadly cancelled for 2023, Summer Games Fest 2023 is still happening to keep the E3-but-not-E3 season alive, with Geoff Keighley’s annualized show announcing that it’ll feature more than 40 partners, including PlayStation.
The announcement came straight from Keighley’s own Twitter account, with a screenshot of a slew of company logos, with both PlayStation and Xbox sitting among other partners listed such as EA, Disney, Netflix, Activision, Ubisoft, WB, and more.
We already know that Summer Games Fest for this year is set to begin on June 8, 2023, but it wouldn’t be out of precedent for Summer Games Fest to claim an event that happens anytime close to the beginning of Summer Games Fest.
So it could be possible that the rumoured upcoming PlayStation Showcase will happen a little closer to the end of May, and be a part of Summer Games Fest, or even kick it off on June 8, 2023.
That’s just speculation based on PlayStation’s own history, where it seems that the company prefers to get its showcases out ahead of the pack, as a method of trying to dominate the conversation throughout any other announcement, from the beginning.
